El Rancho (Frigorífico San Jacinto – Nirea S.A. – Uruguay)

Uruguay is sometimes described as one big farm. It’s a country, albeit a small one, where cattle outnumber people by four to one and farming is the most important part of the economy. Uruguay has the ideal climate for growing grass and raising cattle. In addition to the country’s natural characteristics, the herd density is low and this is a key factor for keeping the cattle’s feeding system free from contaminants. The quality and safety of the product is also guaranteed through the prohibition of the use of hormones in cattle-breeding.

The cattle first roam freely on the pastures and feed on the natural grasses found on the Uruguayan farmland. They then stay in open feeding areas for a minimum of 100 days where they are given special feed that includes a mixture of maize, cereals, hay and alfalfa grass. They also apply modern technologies to guarantee a high standard of quality and traceability of the herds. The breeding programme also ensures that the cattle fulfil EU requirements regarding control, food safety and traceability.

The beef cuts of El Rancho are produced from young steers and heifers which meet the stringent requirements set out in the special programme for high quality import beef for the European Union.
This special care makes El Rancho a high-quality beef brand that is distinctive thanks to its marbling and succulence.

Beyond Meat™- Exclusive partner since 2018

The revolutionary Beyond Burger was the first plant-based burger that looks, cooks and satisfies so much like beef, that it was sold in the meat case in U.S. based grocery stores. Beyond Meat, which counts Bill Gates and Leonardo DiCaprio among its investors, is working to change the meat we eat by replacing animal protein with plant-based proteins. By addressing the protein at the center of the plate, Beyond Meat aims to positively impact four growing global concerns: human health, the environment, natural resources and animal welfare. Beyond Meat’s portfolio of groundbreaking products are already available at more than 32,000 grocery stores and restaurants in the U.S., as well as in a growing number of international countries.

The Beyond Burger is the world's first plant-based burger that looks, cooks, and satisfies like beef

Beyond Meat’s Beyond Burger was the world’s first plant-based burger that looks, cooks, and satisfies so much like a beef burger that it is sold in the meat section at grocery stores and alongside beef burgers on restaurant menus. The Beyond Burger has all the juicy, meaty deliciousness of a traditional beef burger, but with all the upsides of plant-based protein. The Beyond Burger packs 20g of plant-based protein, more than a beef burger. Plus it does not contain GMOs, soy or gluten.
The Beyond Burger™ is made from simple plant-based ingredients applied in fresh ways. Peas provide the protein. Trace amounts of beet lend a beefy red colour. Coconut oil and potato starch ensure mouth-watering juiciness and chew. The result is an uncompromisingly delicious burger made directly from plants.
