Two locations

Zandbergen World’s Finest Meat was bursting at the seams: in addition to the company’s own storage facility on the Industrieweg, we were using third party facilities, too. In early 2008 we opened our very own new cold-storage facility: Frigomundo. Located on the same industrial estate just a couple of hundred metres up the street, the new facility serves to centralize all flows of goods. Everything is stored under our management and the new cold-storage facility allows us to operate at a high level of service. Plus, the new building offers plenty of room to grow in the future.

Storage capacity

Our Industrieweg location uses semi-automatic transport systems and our total storage capacity of 7.500 M/T there is mainly intended to store chilled meat. We also have a shock freezer.

The cold-storage halls in our new location can accommodate over 30.000 pallets and they provide us with more than 25.000 M/T of storage space and feature both automatic and semi-automatic transport systems. The temperature in the cold-storage cells is –25ºC. The building also has a delivery room with an ambient temperature between 0ºC and 6ºC. The temperature in all of our rooms is constantly monitored by advanced systems. The building is one of the most modern food storage facilities in the Netherlands.

We have a total storage capacity for over 32.500 M/T of meat.

Transport

We manage part of our transport operations ourselves, specifically within the Netherlands, Belgium and part of Germany. We use our own modern fleet of trucks that meet the most stringent requirements, thus keeping the cold-storage chain for both chilled and deep-frozen products hermetically sealed. Practically all of our semi-trailers are equipped with a tail lift, a partition wall and double evaporators to allow us to transport both chilled and frozen products separately in one truck. An advanced computer system controls the temperatures inside the trucks.

In addition to our own carriage operations we also work with respected transport companies every day, who ship our products to various countries.

Customs facilities

Frigomundo Customs Services, Zandbergen World’s Finest Meat’s Customs agent, focuses entirely on handling all of the formalities to ensure the smoothest possible import, export and transhipment. Based in the Bonded Warehouse C-Spec, they handle the paperwork for both Meat Import Zandbergen Brothers B.V. and Frigomundo B.V., from where the goods are shipped. Virtually all the Customs processes have been highly automated, which allows fast completion.
